Email marketing was predicted to go the way of dinosaurs and typewriters quite some time ago. As marketers, we were clear that this form of (some would argue) direct marketing would not survive other more recent approaches such as blogging, social media and online landing pages.

Some marketing pundits claim that email marketing is one of those fringe 'Outbound Marketing' strategies largely on the way out. But is it, really? We believe that this may not be the case now that it begins to soak in that consumers are empowered with the ability to directly control the sources of email streams with the ‘unsubscribe’ link mandatory in each commercial email subscription.
